PVL06 in Kaplan, LA
When we chose to bring PVL06 into our portfolio, the goal wasn't to replace PVL04. It was to expand the system.
PVL04 is a proven semi-dwarf long grain known for strong and stable milling performance. On average, PVL04 milled 58/70 across trial locations.
PVL06 builds on that foundation. It combines ACCase herbicide tolerance with outstanding yield potential. Across more than 20 locations from Texas to Missouri, PVL06 averaged 9,062 lb/acre compared to 8,100 lb/acre for PVL04.
On average, PVL06 milled 52/68. But location-specific data tells the more important story.
In 2025 in Greene County — the highest whole milling location in the ARPT (Arkansas Rice Performance Trials) — PVL04 milled 64% whole and PVL06 milled 62% whole. Harvest occurred 127 days after emergence, within the optimal window.

At Stuttgart (RREC), harvested 152 days after emergence, PVL04 milled 55% whole while PVL06 milled 39% whole. This comparison reinforces an important management principle: PVL06 delivers elite yield and competitive milling, but it must be prioritized for timely harvest.
For operations where harvest delays are more likely, a blended approach may offer the greatest risk management. Planting both PVL04 and PVL06 allows growers to prioritize PVL06 for first harvest while relying on PVL04's stability if acres must remain in the field longer.
PVL06 represents the next step forward: high-yielding, technology-enabled and capable of excellent milling when managed properly. Paired strategically with PVL04, it gives growers and retailers a balanced system designed to protect returns from planting through harvest.
The opportunity is clear. With the right genetics and the right harvest plan, we can raise the floor on milling performance — without giving up yield.
