See You in Little Rock!
We’re looking forward to the 2024 Rice Outlook Conference on Dec. 8-10, at the Little Rock Marriott in Little Rock, Arkansas.
It’s our industry’s premier event, bringing together farmers, millers, merchants, agri-businesses, government agencies, end-users, suppliers, and academics to network, participate in educational programming, and plan for the coming crop year.
The Horizon Ag team will be in booth #4 in the tradeshow, and we look forward to seeing all our growers and industry friends there. It’s a great time to learn about what’s new for next year, including:
CLM05: A medium grain Clearfield® variety developed in the University of Arkansas rice breeding program that will be available from Horizon Ag seed retailers for 2025. In multi-year testing, CLM05 has proven to consistently outperform popular commercial medium grain varieties like CLM04 and Jupiter in grain yield, disease resistance and lodging resistance.
CLHA03: The latest high-amylose Clearfield variety from the LSU AgCenter rice breeding program. CLHA03 is a “win/win” for U.S. rice, meeting the unique cooking quality desired by Latin American customers while still providing good yield potential for growers.
Rice Industry Awards

Awards bestowed at the luncheon at the Outlook Conference include:
The Rice Industry Award: Celebrating the person who has proven to be innovative in his or her role in this industry.
The Lifetime Achievement Award: Recognizing the person who has dedicated his or her life to the viability of the U.S. rice industry.
The Rice Farmer of the Year Award: Given to a farmer who has shown determination, innovation or dedication to growing the crop.
