Stand by the Data: The 25-Year Track Record of Horizon Ag

Rice Farming sat down with Horizon Ag CEO Dr. Tim Walker to talk about what keeps growers coming back year after year. For Walker, it comes down to trust. “We’re not out there just following every fad that comes along,” he said. “We’re going to stand by the data.” Growers return because Horizon Ag has earned that confidence through data-driven decisions, honest communication and consistent performance, built over 25 years that started with Clearfield® herbicide-tolerant rice in 2001 and a partnership with BASF on Provisia®.

Part of what’s backing that up right now is PVL06, a University of Arkansas variety Horizon Ag soft-launched this year on about 20,000 acres. Walker calls it industry-leading on weed control, with yield potential that holds up against the top Clearfield lines, giving Upper Delta growers a Provisia option that finally performs on par with their best Clearfield acres.
